E-WASTE
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan ldris (UPSI) through the ICT Center has been selected as a Strategic Partner of the Mobile e-Waste Program by the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) which aims to create awareness among UPSI staff and students on how to dispose and recycle mobile devices. has expired, unused or unwanted, towards fostering a 3R (reduce, reuse and recycle) culture.
Accordingly, the ICT Center has placed three (3) e-waste collection boxes for the purpose of this campaign at the following locations:
i. KSAS Main Door (next to ATM machine);
ii. Ground Floor, Chancellery Building, KSAJS; and
iii. ICT Center, Level 2, E-Learning Building, KSAJS
YBhg. Dato ‘/Prof. Dato ’/Prof. Dr./Prof. Prof. Dr./Dr./Sir/Madam may dispose e-waste into the e-waste boxes provided or contact the ICT Center at the ICT Center hotline (017-7462600) for e-waste collection assistance if you have difficulty on disposing e-waste at the location provided.
All the support and cooperation from UPSI community is greatly appreciated in efforts to manage the disposal and recycling of mobile devices in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
TOXIC WASTE MANAGEMENT
UPSI manage hazardous with collaboration of local waste agency. The pictures depict the process of toxic waste management by UPSI team and local waste agency. The process of toxic waste management is as follows:
• a Temporary Waste Storage to safely store the Hazardous Waste received from the labs where they are originated until they are picked up from the authorized Company;
• 1-3 trained Technicians, who give instruction for waste packaging and labeling and fill documents to comply with national and international regulations.
